AESI Announces Building Purchase, and New Employee Contact: Tom Riford, Associated Engineering Sciences, Inc., 301-797-9160 For Immediate Release: AESI Announces Building Purchase, and New Employee (Hagerstown, MD May 7, 2003) -- Associated Engineering Sciences, Inc. has announced the purchase of its office building in downtown Hagerstown. According to President Wilford Sheng, "While our engineering firm has been located in Hagerstown since 1971, for the past many years we have been leasing space. We decided to purchase our building, and look forward to making improvements." Mr. Sheng said that AESI had been searching for another location, "We looked for a headquarters office building throughout the area, and investigated many possibilities. However, after a lot of soul-searching, we made the decision to stay in downtown Hagerstown, and continue to grow our surveying and engineering business right here." The three story brick building is located at 34 West Franklin Street, and is 5,700 square feet. "This building was constructed at the turn of the last century, and we are making a commitment to not only save this historic building, but to make improvements over the next several months and years." The building was previously owned by Julian Oliver; the AESI founder retired seven years ago. Sheng said that AESI will continue to grow, "We have added staff in the past few months, and we are just adding a new office manager. We also are going to be announcing the hiring of two new positions during the next couple of months." Associated Engineering Sciences, Inc. has announced the hiring of a new office manager. Ms. Cindy Reichenbaugh has been named to the position, and will be responsible for the organizing and managing of the company's payroll, its bookkeeping, invoicing, and payables. Reichenbaugh previously was an account executive for Interstate Communication Services, and also worked for Kiva Networking. For many years she was the regional sales manager for Cornet Technology. Reichenbaugh is a graduate of the University of Michigan. She also is a graduate of Leadership Hagerstown, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Mental Health Center. Hagerstown-based Associated Engineering Sciences, Inc. is a team of professional engineers, surveyors, and construction managers. AESI has numerous contracts in the fields of Structural Design, Highway Engineering Design, Surveying (topographical and metes & bounds), and Hydrologic studies. The firm has provided engineering consulting and design services in almost every Maryland jurisdiction, including every county west of the Chesapeake Bay. Additionally, the firm does significant work in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
