GRADUATES FROM LEADERSHIP MARYLAND CLASS OF 2002 (Annapolis, MD Dec. 9, 2002) -- Richard Reichenbaugh, PE, partner, Associated Engineering Sciences, Inc., Hagerstown, completed an eight-month long leadership development program sponsored by Leadership Maryland. Leadership Maryland, celebrating its 10th graduating class, honored the Hagerstown resident, along with forty-eight statewide classmates, at a black-tie reception and banquet held December 3, 2002 at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel in Baltimore. Leadership Maryland, an independent, educational leadership development organization, informs top level executives from the public and private sectors about the critical issues, challenges and opportunities facing the State of Maryland, and its regions. After participating in a broad range of experiences, these statewide leaders are prepared to serve as important participants in the unified effort to shape Maryland's future. Rich Reichenbaugh, a graduate of Leadership Hagerstown, was the only Washington County citizen selected to be in this year's Leadership Maryland class. Reichenbaugh recently was awarded the Hagerstown-Washington County Small Business Person of the Year Award. Reichenbaugh said that he was very pleased to have been involved in the leadership development program, "I thoroughly enjoyed my experience, and I was very glad to have been able to take advantage of this terrific opportunity." There have been eleven other Washington County citizens that have completed Leadership Maryland, since the program began in 1993. Reichenbaugh, and the other graduates of the state-wide program, received kudos from several officials. "To be informed about statewide and regional issues, and having the opportunity to engage and interact with leaders who put themselves on the front line everyday, has prepared these individuals to be the catalyst for positive change in Maryland," stated Leadership Maryland Board Chairman Henry E. Posko, Jr. A 1993 graduate of the program, Posko is CEO of Humanim in Columbia, Maryland. "These are the leaders to watch, now, and in the future," said Leadership Maryland Executive Director Nancy Wolff. Problems are solved when committed, dynamic leaders with vision and passion are willing to take the risk to lead."
