AESI and the City of Hagerstown have enjoyed a long and mutually satisfying relationship. The City has used AESI for construction management and design on numerous projects, such as Wesel Boulevard, connecting Downtown Hagerstown and the Valley Mall, and the Hagerstown Industrial Park, which provides light industrial and commercial sites for new businesses moving into the City. AESI also reviews shop drawings, performs construction inspection, conducts project progress meetings, evaluates contractors' payment requests, and provides guidance on construction matters for the City.

Frederick County, Maryland

Frederick County has retained AESI many times to prepare plans, specifications and details for the design and construction of county bridges. These include replacement bridges as well as designs to upgrade existing structures' carrying capacities. AESI's bridge design includes roadway design, wetland identification and delineation, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of stream flows to define floodplains, and extensive processing and negotiation work with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the Water Quality Division of the Maryland Department on the Environment.

Maryland State Highway Administration

The Maryland State Highway Administration has executed many contracts with AESI for both surveying and engineering services. AESI recently performed a three-year contract for District 6. This work comprised a wide range of design efforts, from improving intersection geometrics to complete redesign of state roadways through Funkstown and Grantsville. Survey efforts have included right-of-way and property line stakeout on the interstate system in Montgomery and Prince Georges County, topographic and cross-section surveys for the improvements of Route 40 and Route 15 in Frederick County, and many other highway-related surveys in the State, from Baltimore to Hagerstown.

City of Frederick, Maryland

City of Frederick Mayor Jennifer Dougherty said in 2003, "AESI helped save the City of Frederick significant bridge repair funds. We will be able to reapply grant money to other important bridge reconstruction projects. We truly appreciate AESI's efforts."

The City of Frederick has used AESI over the years to prepare plans, specifications and details for the design and construction of bridges and streets. While these have included replacement bridge designs, AESI has saved Frederick significant money by designing safe alternatives to total bridge reconstruction. AESI recently designed a bridge upgrade, which increased carrying capacity, and saved more than $100,000. AESI's inspection team is used frequently by Frederick, and many other Maryland municipalities.

Nordstrom - Columbia Mall, Columbia, MD

AESI provided engineering design services for the new Nordstrom's at the Columbia Mall. Services included designing the entire outside of the pre-cast walls, including all the brick work, facings, facades, and the load-bearing external structures. AESI served as the engineering consultant for contractor Nitterhouse Concrete Products, Inc. The design is an exterior that will not only last for a very long time, but also will retain its natural beauty for a lifetime. The project was spotlighted as the front-page feature of a recent PCI magazine. According to Nitterhouse Concrete Products, Inc. Senior Vice President John M. Crown American Corporation
Johnstown, Pennsylvania

One of the largest commercial shopping mall developers in the country, Crown America Corporation has relied on AESI for engineering services to support a number of major projects in the quad-state region. AESI has designed a proposed regional mall on Route 58, east of Hagerstown and has provided design and construction-related services on the Martinsburg Mall in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. AESI has also provided design to add a new Leggetts Department Store and a strip center along Route 355, adjacent to the Francis Scott Key Mall in Frederick, Maryland.

Bowman Development is a full-service commercial real estate developer serving the Washington County and Frederick County Regions and select areas of the West Coast. Bowman Development specializes in design/build-to-suit projects and is usually its own general contractor/project manager and/or partnering with other major general contractors. AESI has had a long association with various Bowman Development projects, including engineering and surveying work, site design, convenience stores, and proposed projects yet to be revealed.
